Kellie and Caleb’s June wedding in Wichita, Kansas was the perfect blend of black tie elegance and bold, joyful color. With a timeless ceremony, a reception full of personality, and an emotional first look to start the day, their celebration was nothing short of unforgettable.
Getting Ready at Hotel at Old Town
The day began at Hotel at Old Town, where the bridal suite was filled with laughter, anticipation, and the soft buzz of a summer morning. Kellie slipped into an elegant, minimalist gown—sleek, modern, and effortlessly timeless. Her slicked-back bun completed the look with a clean, sophisticated finish. Every detail, from her floral stationery to her classic heels, spoke to her impeccable style.
A Private First Look & Pre-Ceremony Portraits
Before the ceremony, Kellie and Caleb shared a private first look—a quiet, joy-filled moment that set the tone for the day. We followed that with newlywed portraits, wedding party photos, and family formals, taking advantage of the beautiful light and giving the couple a relaxed, unrushed timeline.
After portraits, the couple enjoyed a peaceful hour of refreshment and calm, surrounded by loved ones as the excitement built toward the ceremony.
Ceremony at Holy Cross Lutheran Church
Kellie and Caleb exchanged vows at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, surrounded by their closest friends and family. The church offered a reverent, sacred backdrop for their heartfelt ceremony, which was filled with soft smiles, misty eyes, and quiet joy. Afterward, the couple had guests lineup for a bubble exit by the bell tower, drove away happily in their getaway car, and took a few quiet minutes to themselves before we transitioned to their second portrait location.
Newlywed Portraits at Wichita Union Station
We made our way to Wichita Union Station, where the couple had time to breathe, laugh, and savor the moment together. The soft summer light and dramatic architecture made for a dreamy setting—romantic, grand, and uniquely “them.” Meanwhile, my second photographer captured guests enjoying cocktail hour at The Vail, filled with bright florals and joyful energy.
Reception at The Vail | Private Dinner & Grand Entrance
Once portraits were complete, Kellie and Caleb headed to The Vail and were welcomed with a private dinner in the bridal suite—a meaningful pause in a full day.
They later made a sweet grand entrance, waving and spinning playfully around their vibrant floral cake as guests cheered them on. Their reception unfolded with cake cutting, a heartfelt prayer and speech by the Father of the Bride, and a touching thank-you from Caleb to their guests.
Taco Buffet, Table Touches, and a Packed Dance Floor
The couple personally visited each table, dismissing guests to the taco buffet line and sharing hugs and laughs along the way. After my dinner, I captured candids as they mingled—pure joy in every frame.
The evening continued with a round of toasts, a grand march, first dances, and a dance party that brought everyone to their feet.
Sunset Portraits, Polaroid Keepsake, and a Private Last Dance
Just before sunset, I whisked Kellie and Caleb away for a few golden-hour portraits—a quiet few minutes, just for them. Before saying goodbye, I gifted them a small Polaroid album filled with instant prints from their day, something tangible to take home that night.
They ended the night with a private last dance, just the two of them, before exiting through a tunnel of cheering guests and into their getaway car.
Final Thoughts
Kellie and Caleb’s wedding day was a masterclass in blending timeless tradition with bold personality. From the peaceful start to the joyful finale, every moment was intentional and filled with love—and I’m so honored I got to be the one to capture it.
